The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is planning to establish a new technology and IT hub along Ferozepur Road, close to Arfa Karim Tower, covering nearly 119 Kanals of land.

The proposed project, named Tech Park City, is aimed at creating a dedicated commercial zone for IT companies, technology businesses and other allied services. According to LDA officials, the location was identified following market assessments that showed strong potential for technology and commercial activity.

The development will involve private-sector participation through the auction of commercial plots. LDA Chief Town Planner Asaduz Zaman said the authority plans to develop the area as a modern IT and commercial destination, with facilities such as parking and other infrastructure for businesses and visitors.

Around 50 Kanals Allocated for Commercial Development

Under the proposed development plan, around 50 kanals will be allocated for commercial use, while the remaining land will include roads, parks, parking areas and public facilities.

The LDA plans to offer commercial plots in different sizes to accommodate a range of businesses and investors. Building heights of up to 72 feet for ground-plus-five-storey buildings and 90 feet for ground-plus-six-storey structures have been proposed.

The development could add a new dimension to the Ferozepur Road commercial property market, particularly given its proximity to Arfa Karim Tower and Lahore's existing technology infrastructure.

First Commercial Plot Auction Scheduled for October

The first auction of commercial plots in Tech Park City is scheduled for October 14, 2026. Further plots are expected to be offered through additional auctions in 2027 and 2028.

The LDA expects the commercial plot auctions to generate approximately PKR 13.566 billion in revenue. Separate leasing arrangements for a petrol station and food outlet are projected to bring in an additional PKR 45 million.

LDA Director (Auction) Ali Bin Sohail said the project is expected to support business activity and further strengthen Lahore's growing IT sector.

Potential Impact on Lahore's Real Estate Market

The development of Tech Park City could increase commercial activity along Ferozepur Road, particularly around the Arfa Karim Tower area. The introduction of dedicated commercial and IT facilities may also create greater demand for offices, retail outlets, restaurants and supporting businesses in the surrounding areas.

With Lahore continuing to attract technology companies and startups, the proposed LDA Tech Park City could become an important commercial development for the city's expanding IT ecosystem.
