NAB Directs RDA to Launch Online Portal for Verifying Legal Housing Schemes in Rawalpindi

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has instructed the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to develop an online property verification portal to help citizens confirm the legal status of housing schemes and plots before investing.

The directive was issued during a meeting at the NAB Rawalpindi/Islamabad Conference Room, chaired by DG NAB Waqar Ahmad Chohan. The session focused on enhancing transparency in the real estate sector and protecting the public from fraudulent and unapproved housing societies in Rawalpindi.

According to officials, the upcoming RDA online verification system will allow users to easily check whether a housing scheme is approved, in process, or illegal. The initiative aims to make verified real estate information accessible to the public, covering both public and private housing developments.

DG NAB Waqar Ahmad Chohan emphasized that this step would promote transparency and protect property buyers from scams and deceptive developers. He directed the RDA and Capital Development Authority (CDA) to share housing project data for integration into the new online platform.

A follow-up session is scheduled for next week to finalize the technical framework and operational details of the portal.

This move is part of NAB’s broader efforts to ensure accountability and regulate Pakistan’s real estate sector, particularly amid growing concerns about illegal housing societies in Rawalpindi and other major cities. The RDA housing verification portal is expected to become a major milestone in promoting safe property investment and responsible urban development across Pakistan.
